Pittsburgh News: well-known fashion jewelry designer Kendra Scott has opened a store on Walnut Street in Shadyside.
An admirable aspect of the Kendra Scott brand is their involvement in supporting women, families and the local communities in which they open stores. The (social distancing style) opening weekend in Pittsburgh is celebrating the local community by incorporating treats from local brands into the festivities. Including Salud Juicery Shadyside, Prantl’s Bakery and Millie’s Ice Cream . See an outline of the Kendra Scott Pittsburgh events here.
The shopping during the grand opening weekend isn’t just for a bit of retail therapy self-love it’s also for a cause. The “Kendra Gives Back” program allows the 100+ Kendra Scott stores to collaborate with local organizations to host charity shopping events. Twenty percent of the proceeds go directly to the featured charity. The charity partner for the opening weekend in Pittsburgh is Lending Hearts, which has supported young adults fighting cancer since 2011. The focus of Lending Hearts organization is to develop a positive network for patients and families by allowing them to share their similar experiences through various activities.
Participate in the charity shopping event this weekend by mentioning ‘Lending Hearts’ at checkout in-store or use code GIVEBACK8217 at checkout online.
If that isn’t enough to make you want to visit to shop, the aesthetics of the store might! The Kendra Scott Pittsburgh store is designed as if you are walking into the grand closet of a stylish friend with an chic bright Instagram filter on it. The space is luxurious and welcoming with white marble, gold accents, patterned rugs and antique mirrored tile. The store includes touches of yellow, the brand’s signature color for joyfulness, warmth and optimism. The space features the customization station Color Bar™ which encourages you to showcase your own style by creating a custom piece. The stylists in the showroom guide you through the jewelry customization process as if they are your close friend.
The fun continues outside the store in the neighboring public walkway with a colorful mural celebrating the Pittsburgh community. Artist Ashley Hodder brought to life a signature visual of Pittsburgh, our yellow bridges! And combined this icon with a geometric background full of pastel hues to create an Instagrammer’s dream photo spot.
