You might think that a Napa getaway is going to blow your travel budget. While this picturesque area filled with all of life’s greatest indulgences — wine, food, relaxation, and adventure, is definitely worth an investment, its not all upscale dining in Napa Valley. There are affordable options to satisfy budget travelers. One of my suggestions for cheap eats in Napa would be Gott’s Roadside Tray Gourmet.
Driving in St. Helena from one winery to the next, you’ll notice a line of people holding up traffic, trying to get to Gott’s Roadside Tray Gourmet. Gott’s is an iconic casual drive-in dinner, a very notable pit-stop for any hungry tourists craving amazing hamburgers.
Accolades wise Guy Fieri visited on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, and Gott’s has won a James Beard Award for Best American Classic! Gott’s specialty is the Wisconsin burger, with grilled mushrooms, bacon and melted cheddar cheese. They’re also known for having 3 types of delicious fries, as one of my favorite foodies, the California Dream Eater tested out during his visit.
I was able to stop by during my recent Napa trip and indulged in a burger and sweet potato fries. There’s just something about sweet potato fries and ranch! So salty and crave-able.
Add Gott’s to your Napa itinerary for a great California dining experience, without blowing your budget. Picnics are another way to stretch your dining budget without sacrificing experience. Especially if that picnic basket is full of deliciousness from Bouchon Bakery 🙂
